Bee Balm is a very unique type of flower in the mint family. Their unique shaped blooms, will attract not only bees to your garden, but flower admirers all around!
Their magnificent colors range from light pink to a lush purple, red, and even white. Bee Balm gives off a very sweet, yet spicy aroma. This fragrance comes from the oil on its leaves and stem. It smells similar to an herb like thyme or oregano.
The plant itself can grow up to six feet. The height of the plant usually depends on several factors such as variety, growing location and environment. On average, bee balm usually reaches two to four feet tall. The plant mainly grows in August and September. It needs moist, well-drained, fertile soil to grow healthily. It grows particularly strong when it is planted near a lake, stream or pond. Bee Balm has been known to attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. This beautiful flower will really to draw attention to your garden.
